From Unsafe to Up to Code:
Full Deck Replacement
When a deck becomes a liability, there's only one fix. We replaced 35 years of wear and code violations with a structure built to last.

When It's Time to Start Over.
The Existing Condition:
A 35-year-old deck that had reached the end of its life. The wood was failing, the structure was compromised, and it was time to address critical safety issues.
Why it was a problem:
-
Handrails lacked supporting posts creating a serious structural and safety hazard
-
Stair risers were all different heights, an immediate trip and fall risk
-
Stair tread depth measured 9-1/4", falling short of the 10" code minimum
-
Aging wood throughout left the entire deck unreliable and unsafe
The Solution:
-
Fully replaced the failing deck with new materials and proper structural support
-
Installed code-compliant handrail posts to ensure railing integrity and safety
-
Rebuilt the staircase with uniform riser heights for safe, consistent footing
-
Brought tread depth up to code, meeting the 10" minimum requirement throughout

We checked with the City before a single board was pulled - redesigning railings and stairs required a permit.
We handle permitting and inspection scheduling so nothing gets missed.
