Custom Deck Construction + Pool Access Upgrade
Transformed a small cement patio into a 1,100 sq. ft. custom picture-frame deck, extended it to the pool's edge, and built a custom pool-access platform - showcasing our ability to solve complex design challenges and deliver a seamless, fully integrated outdoor living space.

Phase 1 - From Patio to Picture-Frame Deck: Expanding Outdoor Living
The Existing Condition:
The home had a small cement patio that didn’t provide comfortable outdoor living or a natural connection to the sliding glass door. There was little space for seating, entertaining, or smooth flow between the house and yard.
Why it was a problem:
-
The patio didn’t make the most of the backyard’s potential.
-
There was no clear transition from indoor to outdoor space.
-
Entertaining space felt cramped and disjointed.
The Solution:
-
Built an 800 sq. ft. picture-frame deck, expanding the outdoor footprint and creating a natural extension of the home.
-
The layout maximizes usable space, defines zones for seating and activities, and improves flow from house to yard.
-
Installed a wooden privacy fence to define the space and provide screening.
-
Used a custom railing combination of wood and black round metal balusters for a modern, cohesive look.
-
Added two sets of stairs to improve movement between deck, yard, and pool areas.
-
Designed stairs and pathways for safety, accessibility, and aesthetic balance.

"10 Point Construction completely transformed our small patio into a spacious, functional deck. It’s perfect for entertaining and feels like a natural extension of our home!"
Phase 2 - From Deck to Poolside: Seamless Outdoor Integration
The Existing Condition:
With Phase 1 complete, the 800 sq. ft. deck transformed the backyard, but the new pool remained disconnected from the living space. Access was awkward, the transition from deck to pool was unsafe, and the layout left a gap between two key outdoor features.

Why it was a problem:
-
The pool felt isolated from the deck and entertaining area
-
There was no safe, defined entry point into the pool
-
The existing railing placement blocked a natural flow toward the water

The Solution:
-
Extended the deck by 300 sq. ft., expanding the footprint to connect seamlessly with the pool edge
-
Reconfigured and relocated railings to accommodate the new layout while maintaining code compliance and visual consistency
-
Built a custom pool platform engineered specifically for safe, comfortable pool entry - eliminating the awkward climb-in experience
-
Installed a self-closing, locking gate on the pool platform for safety, security, and peace of mind
-
Designed the entire addition to feel like a natural continuation of the original deck - same materials, same craftsmanship, elevated function
"...they thought of everything. The pool platform looks like it was always part of the design - it completely changed how we use our backyard."
